Registration in the Isle of Man
The registration process on the Isle of Man requires the appointment of a "Representative Person". This should be an individual or company resident on the Island. That is the role undertaken by Equiom.

The registration process for the Isle of Man Ship Registry undertaken by Equiom consists of the following steps.

• Application in writing to the Isle of Man Marine Administration
• Survey of the vessel by the Isle of Man Marine Administration
• Filing of title documents, including a builder's certificate, bill of sale and declaration of ownership
• Verification by the Marine Registrar of the marking of the vessel name, official number, port of registry and tonnage
• Issue of the Certificate of British Registry
